The Organising Team For the Wolds and Fells
The Fells team have miles of hikes under their belts and want to make sure you have loads of fun while competing.
Neal Ingram – The buck stops here. Having taken on the role of leading the Fells Marathon in 2008, Neal works hard to ensure that the event is a success.
Josh Railton – New to the role, but not to the Fells, Josh has stepped up to lead the safety team, making sure that we do what we should be doing, safely and within the rules.
Claire Moverley – Always has a smile, just make sure you listen well (and fill in your entry form correctly!!) otherwise that smile may fade.
Rachel Moore – Quietly works away in the background to keep the event going forwards.
Frank Cook – Has a reputation to uphold, just don’t let that fool you. He is a teddy bear at heart though!
Jo Cook – As the saying goes... behind every great man there’s a great woman, and after decades of marriage, there’s no greater woman than Jo Cook.
Gary McCune – Clear and concise messages are what is needed for control. He doesn’t have time for weather reports or people nagging to get away early.
Charles Holmes and Snaith Leaders – comprehensively checking maps to ensure the Scouts don’t end up in Timbuktu.
Jo Atkinson and Pauline McNee – Jo has taken over from her Dad after learning from the best.
Robin Hull and Pocklington Leaders – Always have smiling faces to welcome you to the overnight site, but don’t arrive too early or they will give you all the jobs to do.
Paul Wharram and Team from Elloughton-cum-Brough – They know all the tricks of the trade (after all, they tried them back in the day). Now though, they work like a well-oiled machine. Make sure you have the right equipment if you want to keep them smiling.
Alex Ellis has taken on the role, leading the team that sweeps up the stragglers. Iif you don’t want to be swept along by them you’d better keep moving.
Laurie Cartledge "Old Woodbeads" and Co – Pray the kids don't go missing before it’s time for Laurie's three course lunch or they'll never be found.
John Jobling and Graham Annan – Have the ability to find Scouts before they even know they are lost.
David Atkinson and Harvey Lenham – Always floating around in the distance, just waiting to be needed by someone, anyone, they are not fussy.
Brenda Marshall and John Blood – Cooking up a storm in the kitchen, keeping us all fed and watered.
The Wolds Challenge and The Fells Marathon are organised and run by Blacktoft Beacon District Scout Council.
